Learning Through Place
Living Lightly Worldwide is grounded in real places, real relationships and lived experience.
The projects and partnerships shared here continue to shape observations, reflections and learning that inform the wider learning ecosystem.
ADRIAN'S CROFT, SCOTLAND
Adrian’s Croft on the west coast of Scotland is the home of Living Lightly Worldwide and a long-term practice site exploring regenerative living, ecological systems and reflective observation in everyday life.
Woodland, grazing systems, seasonal food, water, wildlife, community and practical decision-making all form part of the ongoing learning process here.
CAMPOVERDE, SPAIN
Campoverde, in south-eastern Spain, offers a contrasting landscape that continues to inform the Living Lightly learning ecosystem.
Working within a small urban property with patios and gardens in a hot, dry Mediterranean climate has deepened understanding around water, shade, seasonal adaptation, container growing and designing within limited space.
Time spent here each year also reinforces the importance of bioregional thinking — recognising that resilient living looks different across climates, cultures and contexts.
FROM AID TO REGENERATION
From Aid to Regeneration is an evolving collaboration connected with Jerash Refugee Camp in Jordan, exploring regenerative approaches to food, learning, dignity and long-term resilience in contexts of displacement and limited resources.
The work continues to deepen understanding around social permaculture, cultural context, participation and designing within real-world constraints.
PERMACULTURE GARDENS OF RESILIENCE
Permaculture Gardens of Resilience is a collaborative project working alongside women smallholders in Sindh, Pakistan.
Through practical growing systems, observation and locally appropriate approaches, the project explores food resilience, ecological restoration and community knowledge-sharing in challenging climatic conditions.
DIFFERENT CONTEXTS, SAME QUESTION
Although these projects differ in scale, climate and context, they are connected by a shared question:
